This class will focus on building a dance from the ground up. Each dancer will pick a theme or concept, investigate various ways of expressing different ideas, and explore different ways to find interesting and effective movement. The dancer will either split into small groups or work on a solo and present a 5 to 10 min. piece at the end of the semester. (Depending on time and how things move along, there may be time to do two pieces within each semester.) Certain pieces that show potential may be selected for Toledo Ballet Outreach purposes and presented within the Toledo Community.

We believe learning ballet – or any form of dance – is so much more than mastering positions and memorizing steps. It is also about gaining confidence and self-esteem. Learning discipline and perseverance. Most of all, it is about getting caught up in the sheer joy that only dance can bring. We invite you to find that joy for yourself or your student and join us for a class or two.
